Beeley Woods Industrial Heritage Walk

Beeley Woods is ancient woodland alongside the River Don which contains a large amount of evidence of the Don’s past as a working river whilst now being home to many different species of trees, birds, and insects. We will be walking through the woods looking at both aspects of Sheffield’s heritage.

The walk will be off-road in woodland so suitable footwear is recommended. As the walk is in September, the weather can be unpredictable (sun cream or raincoats!) so it is recommended that you bring a bottle of water with you.

Wednesday 14th September: 14:00 – 15:30

This walk is now FULLY BOOKED.

Tracing Totley’s Two Brooks

This guided walk helps to tell the story of Totley’s two rivers that flow through the history of Sheffield’s waterpower heritage – it’s social history, hidden green heritage, and it’s relationship with the city’s people and it’s industry.

This is a circular walk (starting and finishing in the same place) and is approximately 1 and half hours long . The walk will partly on pavement and off-road, so suitable footwear is recommended.

The start/end points are near local bus routes, such as the 97 & 98 First buses. There is limited parking at the nearby shops, however this is often busy with local residents – street parking can be found nearby but cannot be guaranteed. As the walk is in September, weather can be unpredictable (sun cream or raincoats!) so it is recommended that you bring a bottle of water with you.

Tuesday 13th September: 17:30 – 19:00
